Definition of Double Clearance:
Simply put, double clearance refers to the smooth customs declaration at the place of export and the smooth customs clearance at the destination, that is, the customs declaration in the exporting country and the customs clearance in the importing country.
In some places, double clearance includes door-to-door services, while in others, door-to-door services are not included. The specific cost will be determined based on the information and address of the goods.
Double clearance is only applicable to ordinary goods, and mechanical goods need to be confirmed separately. Sensitive goods such as batteries and branded goods cannot be double cleared.
What is the difference between Double Clearance, Double Clearance to Door, DDU, and DDP?
Double clearance=customs declaration at the port of origin+customs clearance at the destination port.
Double clearance to door=customs declaration at the port of origin+customs clearance at the destination port+delivery of goods to the door.
DDU=Delivered Duty Unpaid at Destination Port, including all expenses except customs duties during transportation. In simple terms, the seller is responsible for delivering the prepared goods to the designated place of the overseas consignee, but does not need to bear any taxes or fees incurred abroad.
DDP=Delivered Duty Paid at the destination port, including all transportation costs. Simply put, it is like express delivery. The seller is responsible for delivering the prepared goods to the designated location of the overseas consignee, while also bearing the taxes and fees incurred abroad. DDP is similar to double clearance to the door.
